Training Classes for Track & Field Officials

LOCATION: Indoor Track Facility
Brown University, Providence RIDATES: January and February, 1999 All are welcome to attend and learn the fundamentals of becoming a certified track & field official for high school, college, and open meets. A usefull class even if you simply want a better understanding of the rules of the sport.
The program consists of three class sessions
- Wednesday, January 13 - Throwing Events 2 hrs 15 min
- Wednesday, January 20 - Jumping Events 2 hrs 15 min
- Wednesday, January 27 - Running Events 3 hrs
6:15 p.m. start for each session
Session Format:
- Introduction and pre-test
- Instruction period
- Practical demonstration period
- Question and answer / 15 minute post-test
NOTE: This series will be repeated in February at Brown and in March at University of Rhode Island (dates to be announced) on different days of the week to allow individuals to make all sessions
FEE: NONE! There is no charge for attending, courtesy of Rhode Island Track & Field Officials Guild, Brown University, and the Rhode Island Track & Field Foundation
